The Edge of the World

The sea to the west of Tasmania is the longest uninterrupted expanse of ocean on the globe - there is no landmass between here and South America. Hence the naming of this spot as the Edge of the World!

Officially named Gardiner Point, you a trip is highly recommended. This special place is the definition of the North West Tasmanian landscape, offering spectacular views of the rugged remote coastline.

Dismal Swamp / Tarkine Forest Adventures

Don't let the name put you off ! This the locations of the biggest sinkhole in the southern hemisphere.

The view from the observation deck is spectacular.  You can enjoy a leisurely walk down to the tracks or brave the slide!

Once at the bottom enjoy strolls through the forest.

Scenic Drives & Tours

There are numerous scenic drives to do in this area, such as the Tarkine Loop and Great Western Explorer.

Visit the Stanley Visitor Centre website or drop in when you're there. Also useful is the Parks & Wildlife website.

Crossing the Arthur River Bridge

A visit to historic Stanley is a must to stroll among preserved buildings with beautiful gardens, and enjoy the galleries and cafes.

Head to Stanley Wharf to see the fishing boats returning with their catch.

We recommend the historic pub too!

Nearby is The Nut - a beautiful spot for a walk and coastal views.
